About

The Nordic Network for School Concerts

NNS consists of Rikskonserter/Concerts Sweden, Rikskonsertene/Concerts Norway, Levende Musik i skolen/Live Music in School (Denmark), Konserttikeskus/Concert Centre (Finland), Tonlist fyrir alla/Music for All (Iceland).

By focusing on quality in the dissemination of music to children and young people, and by establishing a professional network, the NNS shall promote the development of the national organisations in the Nordic countries and strengthen the Nordic collaboration.

This objective is to be attained through

1. Exchanging experience, ideas, programmes and performers. NNS arrange network meetings twice a year. NNS will establish a producer forum. An exchange project at Nordic level has been submitted to the Nordic Council.

2. Planning and conducting projects.

NNS participate in each other’s festivals and in other arenas for programme presentation, to develop research programmes, and to share knowledge about the music of other countries and continents.

3. Planning and conducting conferences and workshops.

NNS work to ensure the provision of both educational opportunities for producers and tour coordinators and advice on the dissemination of music to children and young people. NNS will invite the most competent researchers and will discuss, initiate and test new dissemination models with experts in related art forms as well as in other cultures.

4. Providing each other and other relevant organisations with information and developing good information modules.
