Live Music in Schools (LMS) is a non-profit organization established in 1992, and funded by the Danish Arts Foundation. Its aim is to produce high quality live concerts and offer them to schools in Denmark. This is done through school concerts and similar activities which give the pupils a deeper understanding of the professional music scene.

 

Apart from school concerts, LMS organizes festivals, showcases, family concerts, workshops, projects and other activities supporting the general aims of the organization. LMS also gathers and distributes information on school concerts and related topics through news-mails, networks, newsletters etc,

 

Number of school concerts: usually 2000-2500 a year depending on funding. Number of family concerts: 80-100 a year

Internationally LMS has established contacts in many European countries and co-operates with Jeunesses Musicales International and Nordic Network for School Concerts.
